Dance Coach Jaleesa

Coach Jaleesa’s 20-year dance career received its humble start in the small city of Emporia, Va. She credits Minister Cynthia Chambers of Emporia Greensville Cultural Arts Association with shaping her dance style beginning in 1996, and she would continue dancing with EGCAA until she graduated high school in 2008. Though Coach Jaleesa started in the fundamentals of ballet, as time progressed she found herself indulging in interpretative, lyrical, modern, hip hop, cheerleading, step, marching band and most importantly praise dance. She co-founded a dance ministry at the tender age of 15 called, “Sisterhood of Praise” S.O.P. traveled up and down the east coast most of her high school career. In 2009, Jaleesa was appointed leader of the RAMP Church’s college-age dance ministry, “Incense of Praise”. Incense would eventually grow into the young adult dance ministry of the RAMP Church. She took on the rewarding responsibility of overseeing not just the young adults, but also youth, flags, and the adult team. Jaleesa finds joy in facilitating dance workshops in various churches, teaching choreography, and reiterating the importance of dance in the worship experience!

Coach Jaleesa is a member of the RAMP Church International in Lynchburg, Va. She is privileged to serve under her Pastor and Spiritual Father, Bishop S.Y. Younger.
